Bordering the departments of the Charente, famous for local tipples
Pineau and cognac, and the beautiful wooded rolling Dordogne, nestles 'Le
Bouchaud'. One of four old farm buildings, on the edge of farmland, Le
Bouchaud is a lovingly converted stone barn with a wealth of oak beams, floodlit swimming pool and over a quarter acre gardens. Situated on a no through road, with only the occasional tractor passing, Le Bouchaud offers total tranquility yet is only a short stroll away from the village, where you can collect your freshly baked baguettes.

The village of Aubeterre, one of the prestigious 'Plus Beaux Villages de
France', is close by, with its sandy river beaches, shady square, market,
restaurants and famous monolithic church.

The accommodation sleeps at least 8 in 5 separate bedrooms, 2 doubles and a single/extra sitting room on the ground floor, two twin rooms, with hand crafted oak beds, in the loft area. There are 2 bathrooms (one with bath and one with shower), a well fitted kitchen with washing machine, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and microwave, and a huge living/dining area with large wood burning stove.

The property is newly decorated, and
stylishly and comfortably furnished, there are squashy sofas, comfy beds
and warm tasteful furnishings throughout. There is also a TV, video
player, hi-fi, DVD and Playstation, a selection of videos/cd's/dvd's and an
abundance of games for all ages.

Outside, the pool measuring 8m x 4m is usually available May-September.

There is a large barbecue, full selection of garden furniture and a lovely covered gravel area for al fresco eating or a game of boules. There are also outdoor games including tennis rackets and a badminton set.

The gardens extend around the whole property and there are wonderful
360 degrees views. The property is available all year round and is always
well stocked with logs and electric blankets for off-peak stays, should it get chilly in the evenings.

The area is well served by low-cost airlines:
